i’m sure that many of you have heard of these two ladies - katrina and karena of tone it up!  they are very inspirational and promote a healthy living and fit lifestyle.  they provide great recipes and awesome workouts, including one that i just tried last night when i got home from work.  let me tell you, it was much harder than i anticipated and i worked up quite the sweat.

they call it the rush workout, which you can find here.  as the name says, it is a very quick workout for those who are busy and need to fit in quick exercise during the day. it consists of four moves with a “rush” move in between each.  just 10-20 reps of each move, repeated three times through to complete a full workout.

go check out their post for a quick and effective workout!  and while you’re there, check out their blog, recipes, other routines, and diet plan.

“Well, if I didn’t work out as hard as I do, I’d be really thick. That’s also hard, because I love to eat. But it’s about wanting to take care of myself, as opposed to wanting to look a certain way. I don’t really ever step on a scale. It can be self-defeating to weigh yourself every day. Then you end up obsessing over it. And if you’re working out and gaining muscle, your weight is not going to go down, but your fat could be decreasing.”

i haven’t updated in so long.  with good reason.

i got really sick on saturday and nearly fainted while i was out shopping by myself.  i was suddenly so light-headed and dizzy while walking around that i was seeing white spots and my body started leaning to the left.  for the few seconds it was happening, i was so scared because i really thought i was going to pass out right there in the middle of this crowded wing of the mall.  this woman even yelled at me that i was in her way while this happening to me - horrible.

i went to the doctor on monday because after that episode, i was really tired and i woke up on sunday with a really swollen face and these red rashes around my eyes.  it turns out that i’m allergic to the medication they put me on that i’ve been taking for a month now!  really, it came out of no where.

i haven’t been eating very well or working out much since then.  thankfully though everything has been taken care of and i’m nearly at 100% again!

Most recent inspiration: Jwoww.
Since they’ve been playing Jersey Shore reruns on MTV like crazy this week, I can’t lie, I’ve been watching it.
Biggest thing I’ve taken away from this show: Jwoww is frickin’ STACKED (and I don’t just mean her boobs). And did you know she grew up as an overweight kid?? That means at some point she decided to turn it all around and become the lean machine she is today. That takes discipline.
A lot of people make fun of the Jersey Shore kids, which I definitely understand. I’m not defending them. BUT at least they go to the gym, work their asses off, and have the body most of us wish we had. If they can do it, you can do it.

This is fucking amazing! I love Jenni! <3

dinner tonight:

i plan on having the other half tomorrow for lunch.  i would have it for dinner but i found it to be really heavy and since i still need to exercise tonight i’m not loving this feeling.

not sure what i’ll be doing for exercise tonight though…

getting out of work at 2PM today!  what a great way to start the 3-day weekend :]

breakfast this morning:

jillian michaels: no more trouble zones kicked my ass tonight!

it’s a good work out for sure.  each of the seven circuits are meant to work two areas of the body at one time or just your core.  it really makes you work hard and makes you sweat.  i won’t lie, i had a difficult time trying to get through all of the circuits but i pushed myself tonight since i knew it was the only thing i had time to do (crazy traffic coming home from work today!).  next time i do this, which will probably be tomorrow, i will add this on to some cardio.  even though i sweat a lot and my muscles already feel a bit tired, i just didn’t think there was enough cardio.  it just wasn’t satisfying enough for me as an exercise.  but that’s just my opinion!

dinner tonight:

dessert:

labor day weekend is here!  although some of my friends have a four-day weekend, i do have to go to work tomorrow.  i get out at 2PM though and i will be rushing to make it onto a 2:30 bus (just so that i can go shopping haha).  i have off on monday so my parents and i are planning on heading to the outlets.  relaxing, exercising, and baking are all on the agenda for this weekend!
